PAC End of Year Newsletter

We hope you have all had a great 2018/2019 school year and would like to wish our Ross Road School Community a happy summer!

Ice Cream Social

On Tuesday June 25th the school community came together for a truly sweet night! The PAC brought you the first ever Ross Road Ice Cream Social. It was a huge success with over 370 people in attendance. It was the perfect night with the sun shining and just the right amount of ice cream and candies to treat everyone. We were also successful in raising approximately $500 to support PAC led initiatives for next school year. Thank you to all the parents that volunteered their time to scoop and serve, and thank you to End of the Line General Store for supporting this inaugural event. It was great to see everyone come together to celebrate the end of another great school year at Ross Road.

Why are ice cream cones like parents?
They’re big softies!

Our Ross Road PAC

We would like to thank and recognize the time, effort and energy of all those who contributed to our Ross Road PAC this year.

Bike to School Week Wrap

bike to school
Ross Road Students & Teachers made over 1500 trips to school by bike last week!  Congratulations!  This is about 100 more trips than 2018 and 200 more than 2017!!!

The classes with the most bike trips and winners of the class Golf Lesson are Mme. MacDonald and M. Marion’s classes.

Ms. May’s class had over 100% participation in active transportation including her bike trips during the week.

Great work Ross Road Students, Parents, & Teachers!

Thank you Jackie Hicks for being our Bike to School Week Coordinator!

Jackie is stepping down from this role. The PAC is looking for a parent to lead Bike to School Week 2020! With our fantastic biking community, we’re sure we have a parent to step in!

Final Km Club Update

The last KM Club week was another short one.  We had a turnout of 160 runners, of which 46 were intermediates.

In total, they ran 917km, bringing the grand total to 8123km, the equivalent of running across Canada and half-way back again!

The Intermediate prizes were won by Sophie in F06 & Tiko in F04.  Mme. Marafon/Bulsara’s F10 class again had both the most participants this week (15) and ran the furthest (102km).  They have been the class to beat this year!

Overall, we have 11 bronze medals, 40 silver and 16 gold.  We had some dedicated runners, and a great turnout this year.

Many thanks to everyone who helped to make the KM Club event run so smoothly.
