Dear Ross Road parents,

Just a reminder about the Pinkberry Day ordering deadline! Payment is due by June 6 or your order will be cancelled.

Summer is finally on its way, so let’s celebrate! Treat your kids to a frozen yogurt treat!

On June 15th we will be having Pinkberry Day! Students will bring a lunch from home, and we will deliver a frozen yogurt treat to their classrooms.

  • Ordering will be open from May 15- June 6, 2012. Please have all payments in by Wednesday, June 6th so we can finalize the order.
  • Payment is due by June 6 or your order will be cancelled.

MunchALunch is open for Food Day ordering until Friday, November 4th at midnight.  This will allow you to order for November, January and February. For those parents who missed the initial ordering deadline or would like to add to an existing order, you are welcome to go to MunchALunch to do so until this new deadline.

Click here, or on the MunchALunch logo at the top right of this website, to go to the Food Days page where you will find the MunchALunch buttons to either log in or to register your children.

If you want to view what you have already ordered for your child, look under the menu options for My Account and then View My Order.

Food Day Friday, October 28th, plus a few other reminders

Just a reminder that Friday, October 28th is our first Food Day for 2011-12! Yay, a day off from packing lunches! Flying Wedge pizza is on the menu this Friday.

A few other reminders:

  • Last chance to be included in the Ross Road School Directory! Please submit your PAC Contact Permission Form by Monday, October 31st. Click here for more details.
  • If you’d like to advertise in the Ross Road School Directory, please submit your ad by Monday, October 31st. Click here for more details.
  • CPF Membership drive wraps up on Monday, October 31st. You can join anytime, but this is the last chance to be entered in the contest for fabulous prizes! Click here for more details.

And a note from the office about the Halloween Parade:

On Monday October 31st we will be holding our annual Halloween Parade, starting at 2:00pm.  Parents are welcome to come and join in the fun.  Please be aware that we need to keep the parade route clear for students, consequently, we are asking that parents take up position either in the gym outside the cones, or on the office side of the Foyer behind the cones.  Please do not stand in the hallways or by the front door as this will block the student’s progress.

Children may come to school in their costumes or dressed in black and orange.  Just a reminder that if fake weapons or any other sharp objects are part of the costume, we would ask that students leave those at home.

Many of you will be taking photos so just a reminder that we cannot post photos of students at school events on blogs or facebook etc. without their parents’ express consent.

Just a reminder that Monday, October 17th is the last day to place your online food order. Orders must be placed before midnight tonight.

Ross Road Hot Lunch Progam – October 28, 2011 to February 17, 2012

Welcome back to a new school year at Ross Road Elementary!

Our Hot Lunch Program is going GREEN this year! Instead of filling out paper order forms, parents will place their child’s lunch order Online using MunchaLunch.com! You can pay by Paypal or credit card (as well as the usual cheques).

The lunch program is offered on Fridays, 7 times during the school year. This year we will have new menu options that include pasta from Verdicchio Deli & Trattoria, Booster Juice and treats from Little Footprint Organics. These will be in addition to the old favourites, pizza from Flying Wedge, and Subway.

HOW TO REGISTER:

  • As a first time user, click the “Register Here” button (below) to be taken to MunchaLunch.com
  • Follow the easy steps to “Create my Account” and proceed to “Order lunch!”
  • Return anytime by going to: MunchLogin.com or via the bright green Munch a Lunch logo
  • Returning users click the “Login Here” button (below) and proceed to “order lunch!”

ORDERING DETAILS:

  • Online ordering will be OPEN from Monday, September 19, 2011 to Monday, October 17th, 2011 at midnight
  • If you would like to pay by cheque, please deposit your cheque (made out to Ross Road PAC) into the PAC Drop-box under the “Down” stairs in the school lobby
  • If you need assistance with your lunch ordering, or do not have access to the Internet,

  • Please note if your child is ill on a lunch date, you are welcome to come to their class at 12:10pm and pick up their lunch but we cannot keep the food for them for the next day.
  • Consistent with previous years, there are NO REFUNDS as this is a PAC fundraiser. We appreciate your support for our hot lunch program as the funds go towards new computers and general fundraising within the school.

Fun Day/Food Day – Friday, June 10th!

Just a reminder that Friday is Fun Day AND Food Day!

A few reminders, plus the schedule of events:

  • Kids can bring their decorated bikes for the parade!
  • Wear your favourite sport jerseys!
  • Send a loonie or two with your child to buy snacks at the concession (cold drinks, chips, cookies and hot drinks for parents will be available for sale)
  • The Advocacy Ross Road petition will also be available to sign (near the PAC concession booth)
  • Don’t forget that students will be dismissed at 12:30

• Bell rings – students report to classes for attendance

8:55 – 9:15
• Students called to field
• Opening remarks and bicycle parade on field
• All decorated bikes welcome!!!

 9:15 – 10:15
• Stations: students circulate as they choose.
• They will each have a ‘passport’ and should collect a stamp/sticker/initial from each station.

10:15 – 10:30
• Recess break: students return to classrooms to get their snack (provided)
• then they mingle/play outside as per normal

• Students clean up field and put stations away.
