Friday Newsletter: Christmas Craft Fair | School Directory | CPF & more!

Dear parents,

  • Save the Date!  This year’s Christmas Craft Fair will be held on December 6.  Stay tuned for more details.
  • The School Directory is a useful resource for getting in touch with other parents and families.  It hasn’t come out this year yet, as it needs a volunteer to take it on.  This is a job someone could do from home in their spare time.  There’s a template that’s ready to go and the office has all the data ready to input.  If you can help, please get in touch with Sarah Dennis.
  • Ms Vicki Thomas’ English 5/6 class still needs a class rep.  If you have a child in this class, please consider taking on this very important role.
  • “Surviving French Immersion: A Workshop for Parents of Intermediate Students” takes place this Thursday, October 24th at Cleveland Elementary, 7:00pm. Join CPF North Vancouver for this interactive workshop with Susan Owens, a noted French Immersion teacher with the North Vancouver School District. Mme Owens will share her knowledge and provide tips and resources for parents of Intermediate-age French Immersion students. For more info, click here. To register, click here.

The presentation is geared towards parents of Intermediate students but parents of children in younger grades are encouraged to attend. Parents from other schools are also welcome to come to the presentation.

And a note from the office about the Halloween Parade:

On Monday October 31st we will be holding our annual Halloween Parade, starting at 2:00pm.  Parents are welcome to come and join in the fun.  Please be aware that we need to keep the parade route clear for students, consequently, we are asking that parents take up position either in the gym outside the cones, or on the office side of the Foyer behind the cones.  Please do not stand in the hallways or by the front door as this will block the student’s progress.

Children may come to school in their costumes or dressed in black and orange.  Just a reminder that if fake weapons or any other sharp objects are part of the costume, we would ask that students leave those at home.

Many of you will be taking photos so just a reminder that we cannot post photos of students at school events on blogs or facebook etc. without their parents’ express consent.

Thanks so much for your cooperation in these matters
Have a spooky day!
–Eileen Hood
