Today is the last day of school before the holidays and it is a cold one out there.
Christmas Fair update
I think it is safe to say that everyone who attended the fair last week thoroughly enjoyed it. I particularly loved the Dance Party! Also the crafts that the kids produced were amazing.
We are still waiting to finalize the monies and will relay the amount in the New Year.
A huge heart felt THANK YOU to our Special Events Christmas Fair Hosts in grade 4-5; Jess Howard, Mirjan Demmers, Cheryl Schreader, Shelley Clark, Jennifer Chiu, Nicky Owers. Also a huge THANK YOU to Suzanne Earle for leading the committee this year. Of course we can’t forget the parents who helped make the 11 amazing raffle baskets, signed up for 30 minute shifts on the night of the fair and the set up and cleanup crew. The school really appreciated the work done at the end of the night to put things back in order.
We should also send a big high five to the Ross Road kids who created some amazing little trinkets to be sold at the fair. Hopefully you are lucky enough to have some adorning your tree and/or home.
Mirjan Demmers was our onsite photographer and took many wonderful photos. I will be loading them onto social media at some point in the next week. If you have any pictures from the night please tag them #rossroadchristmasfair2016 on our Twitter and/or Facebook pages or even on Instagram (links below)
The fair would not have been a success had it not been for your dedication to making this a fabulous event so thank you again.
The card project this fall was a runaway success and raised $1,953.63 from Card Project orders. We will be donating 25% of this to a charity. More on this to come soon.
Saleema Noon Parent Presentation – Monday evening, January 16th
PAC GM with special parent presentation Jessie Miller – Wednesday, February 22nd 7-8:30 pm
Parent Social Night – Friday February 25th at Toby’s
Card Project – Deborah Clegg, our coordinator for this amazing project is handing the ropes to someone else after 5 wonderful years. We should mention it does NOT need to be run as a winter/Christmas theme and can be offered other times such as order delivery around Easter or Mothers’ Day. Communicating with principal, office staff and of course teachers is key to success. Also, the owner, Marcelle of the Card project is amazing to work with. If you are interested in learning more about this role please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Family Bingo night – One or two volunteers are needed to bring back bingo night at Ross Road. In addition to building community we are hoping to raise $500 to top up our annual Bike To School Week program in the Spring. Please reach out to us using our email@example.com if you are interested and/or want more information.
Thank you to everyone for your time, energy and contributions and attendance.
Happy Holidays and see you all back in the flow of things on January 3rd.
