Quick – sign up for Wealthy Schools Revolution!

By now you’ve probably heard about Wealthy Schools Revolution (WSR) – the exciting new fundraising initiative at Ross Road. Groceries and home products are delivered to the school with partial proceeds going back to the school. Since it’s awesome, you probably meant to sign up.

But since you’re busy, you might not have found a moment to do so yet. It’s time!

To help you on your way, here’s a little FAQ:

1. Where do I pick up my groceries?
Your groceries and I will be under the covered area in front of the school on Thursday, November 1st (and every second Thursday). Please pick them up between 2:30 – 3:30 pm.

2. What if I can’t pick up my groceries?
Ask a neighbour or classmate to grab your order.

3. What do my groceries get delivered in?
You will receive an individually marked cardboard box with your order inside. Bring back your cardboard box at pickup the following delivery day (two weeks later) and it will be reused for future orders!

4. Can I save my order?
Yes. You can automate your bi-weekly order on the site and then tweak it anytime before the order deadline.

5. Does this mean I don’t need to go to the grocery store anymore?
Nope! You’ll still need to shop. This program provides the opportunity to divert SOME of your regular purchases to a retailer that shares the benefit with Ross Road.

6. Who do I contact with additional questions?
Talk to Tovah: tovahp@mac.com

7.  How do I sign up?
Visit the site: www.wealthyschools.ca
Sign up. It’s that simple. (Have your credit card ready – PayPal is in the works, but not available yet).

Halloween Costume Sale – a spooky success!

Cameron Ward and Angela Woznow helping sell costumes

Drum roll please…

The first Ross Road Halloween Costume Sale brought in $288.00!

As hoped, it was a win-win event! Home storage space was reclaimed, the kids got ‘new’ costumes and funds were raised for Ross Road School!

Many thanks to all the Ross Road families who donated costumes…and bought them!

And a big thank you to Barb Woznow for organizing this fabulous fundraiser!

PAC General Meeting October 3, 2012 – Minutes

Hello Ross Road parents,

Our first PAC General Meeting of the 2012-13 school year took place on Wednesday, October 3rd. Thank you to all those who attended!

>>  Click here to view the Minutes from this meeting (PDF).

PLEASE NOTE: These minutes are “Unapproved”
Here’s why:

  • As we move with technology and the new pace of life, we are making changes to how and when information is shared with our parent population.
  • PAC now has fewer General Meetings per school year than we have had in the past, and we are communicating much more via internet and email.
  • Moving forward, we will post minutes from General Meetings on our website BEFORE THEY HAVE BEEN APPROVED AND ACCEPTED at a general meeting.
  • Therefore, these minutes are NOT the final version and some content may change during the next PAC General Meeting.

Thank you!

— Ross Road PAC Executive
