Over the last few years the Ross Road PAC has sponsored 2 children overseas through organizations that assist in a child’s educational needs and community projects that improve infrastructure.
The first of these students was a young man sponsored through the Trans-Himalayan Aid Society in Nepal. He is now 18 years old and therefore ‘graduated’ from this program. He was able to successfully complete his schooling and thanked our school for the kind help he received.
The other student we continue to sponsor is a young lady in her final year of a program through Plan Haiti. The sponsorship she receives assists in projects that give scholarships for school children, provides furniture and equipment for schools, gives support in the formation and strengthening of children and youth organizations, as well as, raising awareness of hygiene, sanitation and the use of water. There is an information sheet on our PAC bulletin board in the school foyer if you would like to learn more about this particular sponsored child and the community in which she lives, or click here to link to our Child Sponsorship web page.
Linking our children to the needs and awareness of the global community remains a goal of this PAC initiative. As both of our sponsored children have either completed their program or will be in the final year of their schooling, we will be looking at other opportunities to offer sponsorship this spring. We welcome your input.
Well done, Ross Road School Community!
