North Vancouver students who have travelled to Quebec in the last 4 years, could win up to $125!

To enter the 2010 Quebec Trip Contest, eligible students* must create a PowerPoint presentation detailing their experience travelling to Quebec, and email it to cpfnorthvan@gmail.com by January 15, 2011. Presentations should promote the benefits of a trip to Quebec and the cultural diversity of the province. Let us know why other French students should visit Quebec!

*Eligibility Requirements: The 2010 Quebec Trip Contest is open to North Vancouver School District grade 6-12 students, currently registered in a French program (Core French or French Immersion). Contest entrants are required to have visited Quebec in the past 4 years, and to have been a NVSD student at time of travel.

See contest rules for eligibility and details, or email Faith Haran at cpfnorthvan@gmail.com for more information.

Online survey of School District 10-Year Strategic Plan!

The North Vancouver School District is in the process of writing a new 10-Year Strategic Plan on the goals and values that should guide the School District over the next decade. As you may have read in the email sent out by the school over the weekend, they are inviting the public to participate in an online survey in this connection. The survey is open from Nov. 10 to November 16.

Parent input is important in this process, so we would encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity and spend a few minutes filling out the survey.

Here is the link:

Alternatively, go to the www.nvsd44.bc.ca website and open the first link under “Meetings and Updates” (titled: “November 10th, 2010 update: Survey now open on high-level goals and values for the 10-Year Strategic Plan”).

Thank you for your participation!

Oh No, Not Lice Again!

Once again we have quite a few cases of head lice at Ross Road. Please check your children’s heads! If you have no experience with lice and/or nits, don’t panic, check with your Pharmacist or ask a friend for help, and for treatment options.

The school administration as well as the PAC also have resources and on-line links that may assist you. Click here to view the PAC’s “Lice Advice” page.
