Lights Up After Schools at Ross Road! Our popular afterschool and weekend programs, offered across Vancouver and the North Shore provide singing, dancing, and acting classes for children and teens across the lower mainland.

Get ready to sing, dance, and act after school with our fun and talented teaching team. These classes are a great introduction to Lights Up programs and the fun world of musical theatre. Gain confidence, try new skills,  and have a ton of fun, right after school! Performance for friends and family on the last day of classes!

SPRING SHOW: MARY POPPINS!

This spring, our Lights Up afterschool students will fly into the magical, musical world of Mary Poppins! Inspired by the beloved films, “Mary Poppins” features iconic songs, exciting dances, and extraordinary imagination. From chimney sweeps to dancing penguins, it is sure to be supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! 

Students will be supervised from dismissal at Ross Road. No need to pick up your child until 5pm!

Soccer Ravens at Ross Road Elementary: Kick. Play. Grow.

Join us for a fun and welcoming afterschool soccer program where kids of all skill levels learn the beautiful game through games, creativity, and play. Whether your child has never touched a soccer ball or has been playing for years, Soccer Ravens is a place where every child belongs.

The program is led by Juka Almeida, a Ross Road parent and Brazilian-Canadian artist and educator. Juka works with children and youth across the North Shore at NVRC Community Centres and North Vancouver Football Club, where his approach combines skill-building with creativity and a genuine love of the game.

What’s Included:

• Build fundamental soccer skills through games-based, non-competitive activities
• Develop agility, coordination, and confidence in a supportive environment
• Learn through play in a program that meets every child where they are
• Experience a positive team culture focused on fun and growth

Creative Kids in the E-Commerce World is a hands-on after-school enrichment program introducing students to the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and online business in an age-appropriate, highly interactive format. Students learn through short guided lessons, creative exercises, and team activities that turn ideas into simple business concepts. The program emphasizes creativity, decision-making, communication, and real-world thinking while keeping sessions engaging and fun.

Build Your Online Business – How to Attract Customers expands on core entrepreneurship skills and introduces students to marketing, customer attraction, competition, money flow, and safe online selling practices. Students work through guided activities and mini-projects that simulate how real businesses attract and serve customers. This series is practical, creative, and safety-focused, helping students understand both opportunity and responsibility in online environments.

Steamoji: Digital Arts – Special Effects

Steamoji is a dynamic STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) after-school program
designed to train and inspire the next generation of builders, makers, and inventors!

In this Mission, apprentices take their Scratch animations to the next level by creating special effects. Using sound design, animation, and code, they’ll bring scenes to life with effects like fireworks, water fountains, and the Northern Lights. In this STEM journey they’ll learn how timing, layering, and motion work together to create exciting visual stories. We can’t wait to see what your child creates with us.

This is an introductory and accessible course (no prerequisites required) where children will get step-by-step instructions in an inclusive and supportive environment for all creators! All materials and access to equipment is included. Let’s get building!

Sportball Multisport

Dates: Thursdays, April 2 – June 11 (11 sessions)

Refine, rehearse, repeat. Multisport classes are the heart of Sportball programming. Coaches focus on the basic skills common to all sports, like balance, coordination, stamina and timing in a fun, supportive, non-­competitive setting that emphasizes teamwork. Each class focuses on one of eight different popular sports: hockey, soccer, football, baseball, basketball, volleyball, golf and tennis.
