Renew your CPF membership! Ask others to join! And do it before October 31st because during the annual CPF membership drive you can win wonderful prizes! Remember, 80% of your membership fees comes right back to your local CPF chapter. That means more fun events in schools, more resources for parents, teachers and students, and more extra-curricular activities in French for our kids! More info at www.cpf.bc.ca. or from our new CPF rep, Annette Arndt, at annette@wilarndt.com.
Oh No, Not Lice Again!
Once again we have quite a few cases of head lice at Ross Road. Please check your children’s heads! If you have no experience with lice and/or nits, don’t panic, check with your Pharmacist or ask a friend for help, and for treatment options.
The school administration as well as the PAC also have resources and on-line links that may assist you. Click here to view the PAC’s “Lice Advice” page.
Ross Road’s Sponsored Children Update
Ross Road proudly supports two sponsor children: Sheltine Abelard in Haiti and Dawa Damdul in Nepal. We are pleased to update you with positive news with regard to Sheltine Abelard. After the devastating earthquake in Haiti and much uncertainty, we are pleased to report that she has been found and is well. Ross Road will continue to support our Sponsor Children. If you would like to read more about the children, notices are posted outside the office.

First General Meeting – Wednesday, September 29th
Our first General Meeting/Coffee Evening of the year was held September 29. The turn-out was exceptional and the energy was high. The Ross Road parents in attendance met our administrators, got acquainted with other parents and enjoyed a social evening, complete with coffee and treats! Our thanks to each one of you who made the effort to come out. It’s going to be a great year! Click here for the meeting’s Minutes.
Annual Pancake Breakfast – a huge success!
Thank you to Ross Road teachers and local firefighters for putting on this wonderful community event! A great start to the new school year!
Welcome to the 2010-11 School Year!
We want to say hello to all returning families and welcome to the new families in our community. As you may know, our PAC team has already been busy. We have hosted a Welcome Back Lunch for our teachers, sponsored the morning coffee for parents on the first days of school and have sent out messages using our e-mail fan-out system (thanks to all of last year’s class reps who kept their class lists and continue to forward messages to their “old” classes, until the new class reps are set up!)
Our motto is “More people knowing more!” Through our e-mail system, our newsletters, and with our Parent Teacher Liaison’s help, we hope to keep our PAC community as well informed as possible. As parents of a child at Ross Road School, you are automatically part of the PAC. Please know that you are welcome at all General Meetings. This is a great forum to voice your comments, concerns and/or suggestions.
