Me to We/Free the Children

On Friday October 15th, 24 Grade 6 and 7 students attended the ME to We Event at Rogers Arena in Vancouver with Mme Yuen, Mme Naths and parent volunteers. This was a wonderful opportunity for Ross Road students to be with 18,000 other students interested and concerned with social change and international mindedness. We are proud of these students who stepped forward to embrace this excellent learning opportunity and look forward to what they will share with their peers and the community.

Emergency Preparedness Committee

The Emergency Preparedness Committee (EPC) appreciates the PAC’s past purchase of emergency shelters and other vital supplies that will help our school be better prepared in the event of a natural disaster. Keeping our students and staff safe is paramount!

Do you have any Canadian Tire money? The EPC would appreciate your donations so that supplies can be purchased for our classroom “grab and go” bags. The donation box is located at the front office. For more information, or if you have corporate connections to emergency preparedness items, please contact Barb Woznow, our EPC coordinator, at 604-983-2271 or wozzy@shaw.ca. Thank you for your support!

Community Participation at Ross Road!

Ross Road is at the centre of this community, but it is not the building that makes the neighbourhood so special, it is the people who make up the community who make our corner of Lynn Valley a desirable place to live. We thank the many people who have contributed to our school. Most recently, Sue MacPherson, a parent in our school, won a $500 bursary from RBC. Sue has graciously donated it to Ross Road School where it will be used to purchase a new projector! A big THANK YOU to Sue and to RBC, who presented the bursary to Sue in recognition of her community volunteer work!
