Your child can experience the joys and benefits of musical theatre by taking part in our afterschool programs led by our talented and experienced Lights Up Musical Theatre Schools staff. These classes are a unique introduction to our weekend musical theatre programs and provide students with an enriching, rewarding, and most of all, fun afterschool activity right at the bell!
SPRING SHOW! THE LION KING
This Spring we will be putting on a version of the musical “The Lion King,” created for our after school students!
Students are supervised from the bell. No need to pick up your child until 5pm! Performance for parents on last day of classes!

We’re excited to announce we’ve expanded the program to add Grades 2-3 so we’ll be running two different age groups concurrently.
Grades 2-3 will explore what it means to be an engineer, learn what types of engineer they can be, and build fun, creative engineering projects. Then they’ll look at the 7 wonders of the world in new ways.
Grades 4-7 will undertake some structural engineering with bridges, and then have an introduction to microcontrollers.

The SPACE EXPLORER program offers eight weeks of exciting hands-on science based activities. Watch fascinating demonstrations, join in enquiry-based discussions, participate in individual & group experiments, and make amazing take-homes. STEAM4Kids will inspire the curiosity and imagination of children with fun science activities that will help them understand the science all around them.

Virtual Reality & Coding: Adventures in VR Whether you’re learning to operate some of the world’s largest machinery from a classroom here in BC or practicing your skills before performing a rare surgery, VR is increasingly making the jump into real-world applications. In this course, students will explore all the basics of building their own VR environment and bringing it to life with coded animations. Students are encouraged to view and share their worlds through a variety of platforms, including on a laptop or Chromebook, a phone, or through Google cardboard. A laptop or Chromebook is required. No experience is required.

GRIT After-School at Ross Road
At Grit, we run programs in brain-health + soul-resilience for youth. In an effort to combat an ever-increasing epidemic of anxiety in kids, we use mindful activities to show how strong our focus is, neuro-science based meditation (aka #braintrain) to show how strong our minds are, and awesome crafts to show how strong our creative sparks are.
We also talk about real topics like friendships + bullying, anxiety + mental health, stress, pressure, identity + gender and what being an authentic human is really all about.
We laugh a lot and have a ton of fun and we’d love you to join us. All genders welcome.
